Color Resources: Overview

Getting Started

This guide will introduce CCS students to the range of resources available for the study of color. The tabs in this guide will direct you to the traditional resources found in both campus Libraries (physical and online) that explore historical models, theory, science, and the psychological effects of color. A visit to the Color and Materials Library (C&M Library) on the 9th floor of the Taubman Center for Design Education will expand your understanding of the various color tools and systems that are introduced here, with three-dimensional models and tactile samples.

"He who claims to see colors independent of their illusionary changes fools only himself, and no one else." - Joseph Albers, The Interaction of Color, (p. 23); illlustrations: The Interaction of Color
