Academic articles often will not appear on websites searched by Google because they are stored in subscription-only databases that provide limited access. However, CCS subscribes to a number of databases that are useful to Art History students. Below are some subscription databases, as well as a selection of open access databases that we highly recommend.
For the comprehensive list, go to the list of A-Z Databases.
The Library subscribes to numerous print and electronic periodicals; back issues may be checked out from the Library. Here is a partial list appropriate to Art History:
Art Papers Magazine
International Review of African American Art
Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism
Journal of Design History
National Museum of Women in the Arts Membership
Public Art Dialogue
Flipster provides digital access to a selection of the Library's print periodicals, including ArtForum International, Art in America, Art Newspaper, and many more. Both mobile and computer friendly, users can read current and (limited) past issues.
