  1. Where can I return my Library materials?
    • Library materials can be returned in the dropbox outside the Library, or in the dropbox on the second floor of the Taubman Center (TC), near the elevators.
  2. How long can I borrow Library materials?
    • Please see the "Borrow & Renew" menu tab for information on lending periods.
  3. How do I renew my books and place holds on materials?
  4. How do I request an item for pickup at the TC?
    • In order to pick up an item at the TC, you will need to place a hold on the item in the Library's catalog. When you place the hold, you will have the option to pick up at either the MVRC or the TC. Please allow up to 2 business days for holds to be picked up at the TC; you will receive an email with the PIN for the locker once the item is ready for pickup.

  1. How do I checkout a material sample?
    • We have an extensive collection of physical materials that can be browsed in-person. You may checkout up to five material samples; simply bring them to the front desk and let Library staff know you want to borrow them. Please allow up to one business day for items to be cataloged, if necessary.
  2. What if I need a book or DVD that isn't in the collection?
    • You can request it via interlibrary loan or suggest the Library purchase it using the menu tabs under "Services."
  3. I'm faculty; how do I schedule an instruction session or place items on course reserve?
    • Faculty can find this information and more at the "For Faculty" menu tab.
  4. Do alumni & members of the public have access to the Library?
    • Alumni and guests are welcome to visit the Library and ask a Librarian for help accessing databases on the Library’s computers. For information on borrowing physical materials, please see the “Borrow & Renew” menu tab.
